Fishing
Sea fishing - Port Arcachon, Gironde
All types of fishing in Aquitaine

With your family or as a serious sport, on the shore of a mountain lake or on the ocean beaches, fly or minnow crankbait*… You can do all sorts of fishing in Aquitaine, alone or with a guide, as part of a theme break or for a day during your holidays.

250 km of Atlantic coastline

Some people will assure you that surf-casting was born in the Landes region… One thing is for certain at any rate: the vast sandy beaches are ideal for planting your fishing rod and casting your line beyond the waves.

Trout fishing

There is another way of catching sea-bass, sole and other ocean delights: offshore fishing. In the ports of Arcachon or Capbreton, for example, you can join professional fishermen or hire a boat for the day.

The big lakes

A few miles away from the ocean, the big lakes of Gironde and the Landes offer a great many fishing sites.

There is no less than 6,000 hectares on Carcans Lake, for example, with zander, pike, black-bass and roach.

You can also make the most of this protected natural environment at the lakes of Lacanau, Sanguinet, Biscarrosse or Soustons.
