In Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the Grand Hôtel has christened its spa centre ‘Loréamar’, Basque for ‘ocean flower’. A few ideas to travel round the region from one spa to the next (non exhaustive list!)…

In Biarritz,take your pick between the Hôtel du Palais ’ Imperial Spa and Kémana, set up by the rugby player Serge Betsen, next to Hotel Radisson SAS. Or just try them both!

Spas and balneotherapy

Spa in Dax (Aquitaine South West France). Although spa treatments are principally curative, they are also ideal for relaxation. Did you know that Aquitaine is France's leading spa region?

Green setting? Go to the Landes Forest, particularly Dax and Eugénie-les-Bains. Don't forget the spas in Casteljaloux in Lot-et-Garonne, where relaxation is the watchword, even if only for a few hours…

More mountainous environment? Cambo-les-Bains in the Basque Country or Salies-de-Béarn in the Pyrenean foothills are for you.
