3 months of festivities for the harvests in Jurançon
For the last 15 years the winegrowers on the Jurançon Wine Route and their guests have brought autumn to life with three months of festivity and cultural effervescence combining concerts, exhibitions, tastings and various encounters.
This year for example, poetry comes to the wineries from 15 to 17 September; André Minvielle performs a duet with Lionel Suarez on 25 November in Monein; and a whole host of varied exhibitions are held at the Commanderie de Lacommande.
And of course there is always Open Day on Sunday 11 December, when the winegrowers await you in the villages of the appellation, along with artists and craftspeople.
Make the most of the occasion to see the surrounding area with a break in the Béarn region. There is plenty of choice in the selection of guest houses at Monein Tourist Office.
Lastly, worthy of note: this festival won the 2011 French Wine Tourism Prize in the ‘organisation of vineyard events’ category.
