Cap’Cabane, timber!
Stay in a wood cabin, tucked away in an ancient forest in the heart of a natural park. No cars, a natural swimming pool outside your door... This is not a dream, this is Cap'Cabane!
This haven of peace is located in Captieux, just an hour away from Bordeaux and the beaches of Les Landes, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Natural Park.
13 cabanes, all 8 metres tall, are laid out over 10 acres of oak and pine forest. Each cabin can sleep between 2 and 5 people, and features a transparent roof to give you a beautiful view of the forest canopy. Each cabin also boasts a private veranda, so you can soak up the atmosphere in peace.
Owners Morgane and Philippe wanted to found a resort which reflected their environmental principles. They have therefore taken great care to minimise the impact of Cap'Cabane on the environment: dry toilets and solar-heated showers, buildings made entirely from local timber, a natural swimming pool with water oxygenated and filtered by plants...
And there's no shortage of opportunities to relax and enjoy good food among friends: the bistro offers dishes created with local organic produce, prepared by the hosts and served on the beautiful terrace. There is also a shared kitchen available for guests to use.
There are frequent theme nights, as well as nature-themed events and special entertainment for kids. Not forgetting the countless activities and visits on offer in the region : canoe-kayaking, rambling, cycling, horse-riding, fishing and much more.
Forest cabins are certainly fashionable at the moment, and with good cause!
